Improvements
A co-ordinated programme
of escalating recovery action, based on the total level of
debt, with voluntary arrangements recorded and monitored, has
resulted in significant increases in arrears recovery.
Recovery of over £1M arrears per year has been achieved.

Debts
As each year of Council
Tax is billed separately, with Reminders and Final Notices
normally issued stating only the amount due for the year
to which they relate, Debtors can often lose track of the
level of debt which they owe.
Consolidated
Arrears
The CARS system provides
a consolidated view of the arrears for each Debtor. The
arrears can also be viewed by the recovery stage that each
portion has reached. This approach allows Debtors to be
made aware of their total debt and allows arrangements to be
negotiated for all arrears including payment of the current
year.
